Hand dyed yarn, Undyed yarn, Knitting patterns
I source natural fibres from local farms that prioritise animal welfare, and hand-dye them in rich, complex colours using techniques to minimise waste of energy and materials. I aim to create yarns that will be made into items that will be used and loved for years, and I take that into consideration with the knitting patterns I design too.
My Mendip range of yarn is spun from wool from an eco-farm on the top of the Mendip Hills, which I dye in rich, saturated colours. The yarn comes in two weights – a 4-Ply and DK. The 4-Ply has two bases – one of naturally white lambswool, and one of a mix of the natural Shetland colours, creating a heathery, almost tweedy base. Each shade is dyed on both coloured bases to create tonal pairs of colours. The yarn is woollen-spun and ideal for colourwork and steeked projects.
Caia Baby Alpaca is super-soft and fine, with a beautiful glow and a gentle fuzzy halo. It's dyed in both semi-solid and variegated jewel tones, as well as some gentle pastels. Caia is perfect for lightweight accessories and elegant garments that are perfect for layering.
